Celebrating Native Stories All Year with Molly of Denali
Tuesday, November 29 from 4:30-5:30pm.
Join the Michigan Learning Channel and PBS for a teacher-driven dialogue to extend Native American Heritage month and celebrate Indigenous stories all year. We will hear from the Creative Producer of the award-winning PBS Kids series Molly of Denali and watch an episode of the show to learn about research, media literacy, and Indigenous civil rights leader Elizabeth Peratrovich. We will share resources around Native histories and futures, and we invite Michigan educators to bring their own favorite resources and ideas for getting students involved in research and real-world literacies around civil rights.
Audience: K-12 teachers, coaches, and administrators (Molly of Denali is a media literacy and social studies series for early elementary aged learners; resource share will include content for K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 teachers)
