Archaeology: Makoshika State Park | Parks of Montana

Makoshika State Park is located just outside of Glendive, Montana, and extends over 11,538 acres of the rugged, southeast Montana landscape. Makoshika is known for dinosaur fossils and other dinosaur-related artifacts. In this video students will learn about the work of achaeologists and palentologists and how they study fossils that tell the story of the past. We are able to learn so many things from fossils if we look closely. We can tell what the climate might have been like by the different plants that were growing. Or the typical diet of a dinosaur because of the shape of their teeth. Did they travel in groups, or did they prefer to travel solo? Paleontologists can determine this by closely examining the locations where they find dinosaur bones.
