Attitudes toward Education

In 1964, black teenagers living in Orlando were only allowed to attend Jones High school and the Marching Tiger Band was only allowed to compete with other black bands from around the state. The band’s great reputation was known amongst black and white citizens, due to Chief’s high expectations.
