Bair Ranch Barn | Keeping the Barn

The Bair ranch in central Montana reportedly ran the state’s largest sheep herd. Before the Great Depression, the number was close to 300 thousand head. Today the numbers are much smaller, but there’s still activity inside the big sheep barn. It’s over 100-years old and used for lambing and shearing. In the 1920’s, Charles Bair built this beautiful barn to shelter his workhorses, and today it’s the visitor center for the Bair Museum in Martinsdale, MT.
