Students will understand the concept and significance of free exercise of religion as guaranteed by the First Amendment. They will be able to explain how the Supreme Court has protected the free exercise of religion as well as established certain limits on that freedom where there is a compelling governmental interest. They will engage in project-based learning and develop a case study or campaign to explore free exercise implications in a real-world context.
