Communication Is Key | Rise and Shine: Science Time

2017 Arkansas Teacher of the Year Courtney Cochran discusses the importance of communication for the survival of all species. Ms. Cochran discusses the different ways species communicate. Students will learn how organisms use communication to promote the survival of their species. Support materials for this lesson allow students to learn vocabulary related to species communication as well as species’ use of pheromones. They will research, gather information, and record findings about the species’ communication behaviors and how they help the species survive. Finally, students will have a chance to stretch their creative muscles as they write a short narrative.
