Creation of the Adirondack Park Agency | A Wild Idea

Examine the role early environmental activists played in efforts to preserve the Adirondack Park. Students will follow the legislative process from the creation of a Temporary Study Commission, which sought to change the conversation about land use from economic development to saving land, to the adoption of a regulation that resulted in the creation of the Adirondack Park Agency (APA), one of the most ambitious land use planning and preservation efforts ever undertaken.
