Dr. Martha Ripley was a pioneer of health and women’s rights in Minnesota. In the late 1800s, Ripley became a leading suffragist fighting for women’s rights to vote. She was one of the first female doctors in the state and started the Maternity Hospital for women in need. Ripley is a Minnesota pioneer of public health and equal rights.
