Emma and Emma: Pioneers of Medicine | Artifact Spotlight

Learn about Dr. Emma Ogden and Emma Combacker, two pioneering women of medicine in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Both women were successful—Ogden as a doctor and Combacker as a pharmacist. Working together, they overcame societal expectations for women (marriage, dress, children) and became pillars of the burgeoning community.
