FDR and the Press

Franklin Delano Roosevelt revolutionized how United States president used the press as a tool to communicate with voters. FDR welcomed press into his office twice per week, granting record access. With the exception of Theodore Roosevelt, most previous presidents had treated reporters as little better than spies. But FDR embraced the press and took interviews regularly, ensuring that his presidency and policies remained at the center of current events.
