Casey Wylie, the director of education at the Mid-America Science Museum in Hot Springs, Arkansas, uses electricity to teach the science behind lightning and thunder. She begins by using a tool called a plasma ball to explain how lightning bolts behave. She goes on to explain how the Tesla Coil works and how it relates to lightning and thunder.
