Despite a difficult childhood, Frederick Jones became one of America’s great inventors. The World War I veteran and race car driver lived in Hallock, Minnesota, where he became known as a high-tech handyman. As the co-founder of Thermo King, his refrigeration innovations helped change how and where we get our food. Frederick Jones went on to win the National Medal of Technology.
