Freedom and Liberty: The Influence of Revolutionary Ideals

Examine how talk of liberty and freedom spread through the colonies and influenced enslaved people, free Black people, and abolitionists to demand freedom for all people. Students explore how enslaved people, free Black people, and abolitionists embraced revolutionary rhetoric and reflect on whether they think the ideals of the Declaration of Independence have been achieved for all people 250 years after it was written.
