Fundraisers and Signs of Desegregation

Attending the 1964 World’s Fair meant Edgewater and Jones High School bands had to raise $25,000. From carwashes to the selling of Tabebuia trees that still dot the Orlando skyline in yellow blossoms, a united cause resulted in a historic photo of two band members from each school posing together.
