George Washington Carver Attends College in Iowa

Hearing that Iowa might have a college that would accept him, Carver moved there in 1888, where he found work at a hotel in Winterset. He was encouraged to apply to Simpson College, a small Methodist school 20 miles away in Indianola, Iowa. He was accepted and enrolled on September 9, 1890.
