Bees and flowers have a symbiotic relationship that has evolved together for millions of years. The bee gathers pollen and nectar from some plants to consume as food and in this process it helps spread pollen and nectar from plant to plant allowing for a process called pollination.  The process of pollination occurs when the pollen from male plant parts is moved to female plant parts, or fertilization. This happens through wind or the help of animals such as bees and other pollinators.

We need the bees because of their importance in pollinating plants to keep our ecosystem healthy and produce foods. So, it is very important to help keep and provide habitats for bees and other pollinators. The videos provided discuss and demonstrate different ways that you can help bee’s and other pollinators continue to flourish such as planting wildflowers for a pollinator garden or providing bee hotels and homes.
