Human activities add carbon emissions to Earth’s atmosphere, so experts use these figures to make predictions about how different concentrations of greenhouse gases will affect the temperature of Earth. These scenarios are plotted as RCP (representative concentration pathways) graphs. In this video, experts explain how RCP models are made and the factors that determine the different scenarios.
