Always be polite and respectful. Treat all people, including politicians, the way you want to be treated. Even if you personally disagree with their positions, assume they are doing what they think is right. Keep in mind that when you ask thoughtful questions about public policy, you deserve answers. Elected officials at the national, state, and local levels work for the public—that’s you!
