Intro to CRISPR | Sanford PROMISE

This hands-on activity demonstrates the CRISPR process by having students construct a model.

The Facilitator’s Guide will help students learn about clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) and CRISPR-associated proteins (Cas), including Cas9. Students will explore how CRISPR technology and Cas9 proteins can target and change DNA base pairs. Students will be introduced to genetic disorders and learn how CRISPR technology can be used during treatment.
