Lincoln University, a historically Black college and university (HBCU) in Pennsylvania, opened doors to higher education when White institutions barred African American students from attending. Known as the “Black Princeton,” Lincoln offered rigorous training and essential skills. It was founded in 1854 and became an engine for freedom, opportunity, and advancement in the face of oppression.
