Mini Motors | Mission: Materials Science

Learn how materials science and engineering is at work all around you. In this activity, you’re going to make a chemical motor for your very own little boat. You’ll learn how the chemical interactions between two liquids can cause molecules to move—and your boat to scoot! Use the support materials to guide your students through the materials science activity. (Next Generation Science Standards information is included in the Teacher Guide.)
