Life in prison camp is often characterized by long periods of monotony punctuated by moments of terror. To maintain their morale and sanity, prisoners try to build strong relationships with other inmates and keep their minds and bodies engaged. Examples of their creative work displayed at the museum include a hand-carved pipe, a crocheted book cover, an embroidered jacket, and a ship’s replica made from animal bones.
