Movement 6: Of Gravity and Light | Iowa PBS Performances

“Movement 6: temporarily obscured by passing into the shadow of another body” is composed for violins, viola and cello. This movement serves as a model to demonstrate the cyclic patterns of the Earth-moon System that cause observable eclipses of the Sun and the Moon. Each of the three instruments explore similar musical themes and ideas while they “orbit” around each other.
