Native Americans Past and Present: Challenging Misconceptions | Wyoming’s Native Americans

The Wind River Indian Reservation is home to 15,000 members of the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes. Both are distinct tribes with different languages, cultures, and histories. Students will hear directly from Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone tribal members about their heritage, culture, and the adversity they have faced. Students will learn to challenge misconceptions and stereotypes that have developed over generations, helping them learn who Native Americans truly are-not only in Wyoming, but across the country.
