Poindexter Orr Barn | Keeping the Barn

The Poindexter Orr Barn is part of the Matador Cattle Company in Dillon, MT. The original log construction is still functional as a place to keep horses for the cattle company. The floor is made of logs cut in half and was part of the original construction in the 1880s. This barn represents the evolution from log construction that came in the early settlement periods to the framed wood building techniques used when mills began to provide more materials.
