Pony Express | Outdoor Nevada

From the 5^th season of Vegas PBS’s series Outdoor Nevada join host John Burke and learn about The Pony Express and the route through Nevada. The Pony Express was a mail service delivering messages, newspapers, and mail using relays of horse-mounted riders that operated from April 1860 to October 1861 between Missouri and California. Students will view a re-enactment of a rider exchange, and discover the type of equipment used, the landscape of the Nevada route, and the perils the riders faced.
