Re-examining Our Relationship with Nature | Futures Literacy

Nature is not some “other” outside of us: humans are a part of nature. Using case studies from A Brief History of the Future, students will explore ways that integrating nature into our daily lives becomes a pathway to designing a better future for us all.

The natural world makes everything we do possible by providing for our basic physical needs and contributing towards our well-being. The more we can care for, work with, and preserve nature, the more future generations will benefit.

Michelle Blanchet is the co-founder of The Educators’ Lab—an organization that supports teacher-driven projects that create impact for students and their communities. A former teacher herself, she has worked with a wide range of organizations to facilitate changemaking in education and support teacher innovation. She is the author of two books.
