SUPER STARS: Children feel more secure when they know there are grown-ups who care about them. Tell kids, “There are lots of grown-ups who care for you and who will always be there to help you.” Talk about the people in their life who love and help them, such as parents, grandparents, and teachers.

NEW THINGS TREE: Giving new things a try helps children learn, grow, and take on challenges! Point out to kids and parents that we’re always growing and learning (not just kids…grown-ups too!), and that they’re going to create a tree that shows exactly that. Distribute the printable page (one per family) and have them think of things they have learned to do (or learned about) recently.

ELMO DOESN’T GIVE UP: Help kids discover the power of “yet”!

SUPER ESTRELLAS: Los niños se sienten más seguros cuando saben que hay adultos que se preocupan por ellos. Dígales a los niños: “Hay muchos adultos que los cuidan y que siempre estarán para ayudarlos”. Conversen sobre las personas de su vida que los quieren y que los ayudan como sus padres, sus abuelos, sus hermanos, y sus profesores.

UN ÁRBOL PARA EL CRECIMIENTO Y APRENDIZAJE: ¡Cuando intentan cosas nuevas, los niños aprenden, crecen y pueden enfrentar nuevos desafíos! Explíqueles a los niños y a sus padres que siempre estamos creciendo (no solo los niños, también los adultos) y que van a hacer un árbol que lo demuestra. Reparta la hoja imprimible (una por familia) y pídales que piensen en cosas que han aprendido recientemente. También pueden conversar sobre cosas que no podían hacer antes, pero que ahora pueden hacer porque las han practicado.

ELMO NO SE RINDE, TODAVÍA: Es posible que los niños todavía no sepan hacer algo, pero con la práctica podrán hacerlo.
