Subtraction Within Ten | Cyberchase

Practice using subtraction to determine how many are missing from a group. In this video from Cyberchase, Buzz and Delete are keeping track of some noisy smirbles outside of the Wreaker so Hacker can bake a delicate souffle. When they lose some smirbles, they need to figure out how many they lost and get them out before they make noise.

To solve the problem, they count the smirbles outside, compare it to the total from a group photo, and check them off on the picture to figure out how many are missing. As they find each smirble, they check them off the photo until all of them are accounted for, reinforcing the idea that subtraction can help track quantities.
