Teaching Civics: Schools as Incubators for Democracy | A Citizen’s Guide to Preserving Democracy

Students will describe the role schools can play in promoting and encouraging civic understanding and participation. Using a variety of videos, including an episode of A Citizen’s Guide to Preserving Democracy, students will compare several ways in which schools have contributed to American democracy and building civic leadership skills. Students will conclude by deciding how American schools can continue to contribute to civic learning and skills building in the United States.
