In this Scholar Series session, Dr. Carla Easter guides students through a breakdown of genetics and genealogy: what it is, the science behind it, and how they connect. Easter then guides students through a Finding Your Roots lesson that centers around how science and genetics can help build a family tree featuring journalist Maria Hinojosa and actor John Lithgow. The session also shows students how to access and use the PBS LearningMedia and Finding Your Roots materials in their classroom.
