The Surprising Truth Behind Planting Trees and Climate Change | Weathered

Maiya May explores an old growth forest with Dr. Beverly Law to uncover the latest research about how trees can best serve as a climate change mitigation solution.

Students will learn the concept of net carbon sinks, why certain trees are more effective at sequestering carbon than others, and the benefits of preserving strategic carbon reserves around the world and perhaps within their own communities.

Merek Chang is a high school science teacher in Hacienda La Puente Unified School District in Southern California. He received his B.S from UC Davis and an M.A in education from San Diego State University.
