The Ups and Downs of Social Media: Evaluating Mental Health Effects on Teens | On Our Minds Podcast

In this lesson, students will listen to an episode of On Our Minds, a youth-led podcast exploring issues pertaining to mental health among teenagers. This episode focuses on the positives and negatives of social media on youths’ mental health. Students will be listening to first hand anecdotes from teens who have faced challenges because of social media and some who’ve overcome them.

Students will evaluate the impact of social media on the mental health of teenagers by listening/watching an episode of a podcast and analyzing the various narratives for claims, counterclaims, and solutions to the issue.
