The Vindman Twins on Liberty | UNUM Short

Drawing from this UNUM Short with the New York Times, students will examine Alexander and Yevgeny Vindman’s return to the bench where they first met Ken Burns nearly 40 years ago to reflect on their own refugee experience, the refugee crisis unfolding today, and what we need to do to live up to our country’s ideals. Using this short, students will be able to analyze the topic and attitudes towards immigration, decipher the changing meaning of phrases and symbols throughout the years, and interpret the immigrant’s plight.
