There Is Pele | MOLLY OF DENALI®

Molly and Grandpa Nat are off to visit a volcanologist friend, Keahi, and his family, Tūtū Emma and niece Kawena, on the Big Island of Hawai’i in this animated story from the PBS KIDS series MOLLY OF DENALI®. Mauna Loa looms in the distance of the beautiful Hawaiian landscape, and Molly hopes that there will be an eruption. But when her wish comes true, she looks to the story of Princess Ruth Keʻelikōlani’s offering to help find a way to stop the lava from reaching them. Hawaiian Natives Tūtū Emma, Keahi, and young Kawena share their knowledge of Pele, the goddess of fire and volcanoes, and include Molly and Grandpa Nat in their custom of cleaning and tidying up for Pele’s arrival once the ground starts to rumble. Will Molly’s offerings be enough to stop Pele?
