Ubaldo Vitali & Paul Revere: Silversmiths Connecting Across Time

Meet silversmith Ubaldo Vitali, who shares his admiration for a fellow artist and patriot, Paul Revere, and view the most famous of Revere’s works, the Sons of Liberty bowl. In this lesson, students investigate the Paul Revere engraving, “The Bloody Massacre in King Street,” which was an important piece of propaganda during the American Revolution, to determine what Revere did in his work to promote a point of view. They’ll also learn about the repousse method that Ubaldo demonstrates in his work and consider how art can connect us to history.
