Understanding Ourselves to Design Better Futures | Futures Literacy

It’s often said that “change starts from within…” When we think about the future, it’s critical that we imagine systems that fulfill us as people and give us a sense of worth. In these clips from A Brief History of the Future, students will learn how each of us has the power and capacity to take steps right now to design better futures.

A first step in designing better futures for all is understanding ourselves. In order to do this, we must slow down and learn to reflect on what it means to be human, and to be our unique self. We each have our own way of adding value to our lives and the world. So, the better we understand ourselves, what drives us, and what fulfills us, the more likely we are to use our uniqueness to drive positive change.
