Willie Nelson: American music icon. There’s a good reason why a bronze statue of Willie Nelson stands at the entrance to ACL’s studio home on the Austin street that bears his name. Even as an octogenarian, Willie Nelson is a true artist who’s still exploring, still playful and still pushing the boundaries of where his music can go. This unit includes an excerpt from the Willie Nelson & Family ACL performance recorded in 2018, accompanied by three lessons for multiple grade levels to help instruct and explore a variety of musical and language arts skills.
