In this final lesson, Farmer Nick and Plant will teach you how plants help the world around them, including us humans.
In the previous lessons, we’ve learned about several ways that humans can help plants. We can examine the soil, we can give seeds the light and warmth they need to start growing, and we can make sure our plants get plenty of sunlight and water. We can even change a flower’s color just for fun!
But as much as we help plants, plants also help us. Plants are like superheroes… no humans or animals could live on Earth without them! We’re all joined together in the circle of life.
For our final hands-on activity, you’ll be building your own ecosystem. An ecosystem is a community of living things (different plants and even a few animals) that all work together in one place, even if that place is as small as a jar. By the end of this activity, you’ll be able to hold your own little world in your hands!
For once, you don’t have to wait to finish the hands-on activity, but be sure to keep watching your ecosystem as it grows and changes over time. It’s your world! Why not watch it?
Thanks for listening, young seedlings. we’ll see you later, and remember: always keep growing!
