We're looking for 5th – 12th grade teachers in Michigan to join a paid, media-making fellowship that celebrates Michigan
Applications are now closed
Happy October! There’s something truly magical about this month in our state. The crisp autumn air, the vibrant colors of changing leaves, and the abundance of fresh apples and pumpkins—it’s a time that reminds us to appreciate the beauty of change. As we embrace the cozy fall atmosphere, your PBS stations across Michigan are also shifting into high gear, bringing you rich programming and resources designed to engage students, spark creativity, and connect to current events and cultural celebrations.
Reach out to us at any time so that we can come visit and customize PBS materials for your classroom!
October marks the beginning of Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month, and we’re thrilled to offer a variety of educational programs, hands-on activities, and curated resources to help you bring this important cultural celebration into your classrooms. Additionally, with Bullying Prevention Month in full swing, we’ve teamed up with Delta College Public Media and WNMU Public Media to support the Stand Up To Bullying campaign, helping schools foster safer environments for all students. It’s also National Book Month and LGBTQ+ History Month –and we’ve got ideas for all of it!
I’d love to hear about the incredible work happening in your schools. Whether you’re looking for specific content, interested in designing a new project that incorporates PBS materials, or planning a family engagement event, our whole team is here to help! Feel free to reach out at connect@michiganlearning.org.
Peace,
Matt Hamilton

Calendar
We have worked hard to create a hybrid, flexible fellowship opportunity that allows for busy schedules and varying commitments across our state. That said, we will require attendance at a few events during the year. We will also do our best to help with travel arrangements and costs as needed. Below are the required meetings and some optional opportunities. If you cannot make the required events, please consider applying next year.
