A No-Waste Fishing Industry in Iceland | Hope in the Water

Through a case study of the cod industry in Iceland, students learn how creativity and collaboration with diverse partners successfully turned a wasteful industry into a no-waste, economical success with worldwide health and environmental benefits.

Through engagement activities, students explore waste products from common foods and practices. A community activity provides students an opportunity to conduct a place-based investigation of waste around them demonstrating activation and changemaking on a local scale.
