In this lesson, Farmer Nick and Plant take you back to the beginning of life as plants know it: seeds!

Seeds might look small and boring from the outside (like they need magic to come to life), but the truth is that all seeds have a little wiggle inside of them. They just need the right conditions to grow up and turn that wiggle into their best dance moves… and it’s up to you to provide the right conditions!

What are the right conditions for seeds? Well, just like you, plants enjoy dancing the most when it’s warm and sunny outside. When it’s cold and dark, they prefer to stay bundled up inside!

The hands-on part of this lesson will show you how seeds open up and start growing into tiny, young plants (a process called germination). As part of that lesson, Farmer Nick and Plant will help you see how much better plants can grow when they have the light and warmth they need.

Like last time, you’ll need to do some waiting between the steps of this lesson. Patience is a virtue, young seedling! Remember that plants are slower than humans like you, and that’s what makes nature beautiful.
