In this lesson, Farmer Nick and Plant show you how to propagate indoor plants! That’s a fancy word for “taking one plant and turning it into two or more plants.”
Plants are simpler forms of life than animals and humans, but they still have two “superpowers” that animals and humans don’t have. The first “superpower” is that plants make their own seeds, which means they multiply themselves over time. You probably already knew that.
But the second “superpower” is even cooler: if you cut a plant in half, it becomes TWO plants! Propagation is when gardeners make use of this plant superpower to multiply the number of plants they have.
(Don’t worry! Plants don’t feel pain, so this doesn’t bother them at all. As weird as it may sound, cutting a plant in half doesn’t injure it… in fact, sometimes it actually makes it healthier!)
In the hands-on part of today’s lesson, Plant teaches Farmer Nick how to propagate three different kinds of indoor plants using Farmer Nick’s plants Enrique, Ivanka, and Kevin as examples.
