Casting Call

The Michigan Learning Channel is casting on-camera talent for a new career exploration show called The Career Center. Each half hour episode will feature lessons and discussions with real students about the world of careers. Students will explore career opportunities and meet professionals in different fields, participate in lessons designed to build the skills they’ll need in the world of work, and learn about different pathways to pursue a career. Want to know what it’s like working on an MLC production? Watch the testimonials from two of our student hosts below.

The Group Chat

We won’t text you. The Group Chat is a miniseries where middle and high school students share their thoughts on current events and issues that affect students everywhere. The premiere season was developed by Amelia, Arise, Bri, Calli, Cedar, Gabe, and Yash – all teenagers and all former hosts of the Michigan Learning Channel’s tween show Extra Credit. This group of students represents Farmington Hills, Cheboygan, Detroit, and Kalamazoo areas. The first season includes the following episodes: Lessons from Miss Anita; Don’t Flush That!; We’re All Beautiful; Sextortion; and Caleb’s Kids & Mental Health Awareness. Each episode includes practical advice and/or strategies that other teen viewers can use. Watch the series below.
